Shannon is a fourth-generation and lifelong resident of Montgomery County. Growing up, Shannon’s family operated several businesses and owned two farms where they raised tobacco, hay, and dairy cattle. These endeavors instilled a tireless work ethic and a drive to make a better life for himself in the future.

As an alumnus of Montgomery County High School and Morehead State University, Shannon possesses profound insight into the significance of a high-quality education in enhancing and enriching the community. Shannon graduated with honors at the top of both of his high school class and his college class. He holds a four-year Bachelors of Business degree from Morehead State University.

During and after graduating from Morehead State, Shannon embodied the spirit of an entrepreneur. By creating and managing multiple business ventures, Shannon possesses the discipline, passion, and tenacity to surmount numerous obstacles, including governmental overreach and excessive regulation.

As a devoted family man and serving as Magistrate for Montgomery County for 11+ years, Shannon possesses a distinct perspective that encompasses a broad spectrum of the political landscape. Over the years, he has built relationships with some of the smartest and most conservative leaders at our State Capitol and he has participated in legislative policy creation with several of them.

Shannon’s solution-driven approach culminated in triumphs within the political arena by challenging policies that jeopardize our most vulnerable citizens—seniors on fixed incomes and our children. This passion led to combating other policies, beyond his district, attempting to impose an excessive tax increase on property owners without securing a vote from the people.

Gaining momentum from these triumphs, Shannon has concentrated his desire for aiding individuals in the community, the advocacy for a more streamlined and fiscally responsible government, and his vision for the people of the 74th District to prosper.
